Billy was one of my first boyfriends. I had a party for my 11th birthday and I remember dancing with him. We also reconnected when he went to Ferris. I was dating Jules Goldman who I have sinced married and we spent hours talking on the weekends I went up to visit.  He was great.

I went through Vernor Elementary School and Mumford High School with Billy.  He was fun, friendly, big hearted and just an all around great guy.  In many ways Billy's passing signified my entrance into the reality of the grownup world.  It was the first time many of us attended the funeral of one of our peers.  The pall bearers were our friends and the sadness that filled the funeral chapel impossible to imagine. He left us much to soon and I am sure that many of us think of him often.

I remember all the great times spent with Billy & Marlene when Paul & I dated. Billy was a "light" gone out too soon. Funny & sweet with a heart of gold. I loved his family also. Paul called me at boarding school to tell me. For me, and many of us,our first loss.

Billy was a great guy. My favorite memory was from the golf team. We played Pershing @ Rackham and as usual all matches were over by hole 6. On the 7th hole, a par 5 Billy started screaming because he sunk his 3rd shot for an eagle 3. Only problem was and I don't know if I was the only one who knew  he "duffed" the real 3rd shot, quickly dropped a ball because no one saw him, and hit another 3rd shot and sunk it for an eagle 3. It was great. His death was unbelievablly tragic; he'll be at the reunion in spirit.

As my sister Kathy said Billy's accident was our first experience with losing a friend. I remember Billy was the best looking guy in in our class. His Bar mitzvah was at Temple Beth El on Woodward. There were bowls of Fresh Shrimp something I couldn't get at home, I have loved shrimp since them
