I was so saddened to learn of Rise's passing! We went to Wayne State together and had a ball! She watched the riots in 1967 from her bedroom window as people raided Grinnell's on Livernois and gave me a blow by blow account on the phone. She stood up for me at my wedding and I did the same for her.
Alas, time and distance can have a way of altering friendships...and so it was with us. I know she had a wonderful husband, Larry Silverstein, three beautiful children and lived in London, Ontario. Rise, you will always have a place in my heart.
