Martin was outstanding in the annual Spelling Bee at Mettetal Elementary/Jr High. Ten of us accepted the invitation to attend Mumford. Martin, Karen Anglin, John Bumford and I stayed through graduation. Martin and I went on to Ann Arbor. He was tall, kind, and a good friend.
