I was devastated to hear of Gordys passing. He was a great friend and colleague since Hampton days. He was always friendly and pleasant when we would  see each other. He loved to recall the Hampton days and speak of some of the things we did back then which made both of us laugh out loud.  Gordy had a great legal career and showed his superior legal ability constantly in the practice of law.  Gordy will be greatly missed.

Gordy & I initially met at Mumford but truly became more than friends every Wed nite starting in 1971 as adults, young lawyers and tennis doubles players-we closed down more tennis houses than they could build during that time(we never went to bars let alone closed them)-this continued on for almost 20 years-every Wed nite + weekends outdoors-Gordy never talked your ear off-he was always ready for a good match-he was more serious than I was, eventually joining and "championing" at the Detroit Tennis House (yes from 7 Mile & Wyoming- but now at 14 & Drake)-Gordy was deceptive on the Courts (in law and in Tennis)-I always thought I would get 1 by him & then remembered that he was left handed & deceptively long armed-playing with Gordy was always a chance to improve-he got better as we got older.

Gordy never mentioned who he was seeing at any point in time until he started going out with Marlene-he mentioned he was dating someone I might know-true-we went to Winship Elementary together-after a few years, he nonchenantly mentioned... he got married "last week" on a cruise-I asked to whom & he said you know her. That was all he said-it took an entire evening for him to mention it again-he said it once-that was all he had to say-Gordo-you will be missed-both on the tennis courts by the Oakland County Bar and in life. ..

Very sad about his passing.  I would see him and his wife at the airport to or from Florida.  A great guy.
