I'm so sorry to learn of Larry's death.  I had several classes with him. He was always friendly and had a great sense of humor.

From age 8 Larry was my very best friend. I miss him daily. He was smart, extremely funny and very much engaged in current affairs. He was my mentor. A short story: In the summer of 1961 Larry and I took a greyhound bus to chicago for 4 glorious days by ourselves (unthinkable now). We saw Sandy Koufax win at Wrighly Field win 2-1 over the Cubs, went to the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Aquarium.Feasted a t fine restaurnts and stayed at the YMCA hotel downtown. The room had no windows. Larry woke me the first day saying it was 8:30 --time to get up. We quickly dressed and exited the hotel to find it was pitch black out. Turns out he was looking at his watch upside down. It was only 2:00 a.m. We laughed and I doubt  we ever went back to sleep.
