From the beginning . . . The year after graduation, 1966, my family moved out of Detroit to northwest Oak Park, the first of many suburban stops in Oakland County, where I lived for 36 years altogether. I commuted to Wayne State University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. I began a Masters degree program in Social Work, from which I dropped out at the beginning of 1971. That field wasn't for me, I soon found out.

I married for the first of three times in 1969 and moved to Madison Heights. In mid-1974 the first of my three children was born, my only daughter, Marla, who gave me a grandson, Andrew, in October of 2009.

As 1975 dawned, I began a nearly 28-year career with the State of Michigan, eventually taking advantage of an "Early-Out" incentive retirement option in 2002 at the tender age of 55; by that time, I couldn't wait to get out! In the spring of 2002, I married my current wife, Linda and a year later we bought a home west of South Lyon in Livingston County, between Brighton and Ann Arbor, where we currently live. We plan to move soon to an area within a triangular apex between Philadelphia, New York and Atlantic City to be near Linda's friends, two of her sons and her grandson, Nolan. However, we are considering a possible temporary move to south Florida to be nearby to and help care for my elderly father, who is 92 years old in 2014. Gotta get our house in Michigan sold first.

After retirement, I worked various driving jobs for three different companies until early in 2013, some part-time and some full-time. Now, I am fully retired, for the time being anyway, although I never rule out another part-time driving job, which I always loved to do. When I was a kid, I was the front-seat navigator on family vacations, so the road got in my blood, way before GPS! My GPS is in my head, though I must admit the little gizmo has helped out from time to time.

I have been on a senior bowling league in Farmington, Michigan where I was one of the youngest bowlers; only about ten out 70 or so were in our 60s. I also belong to a gym where I try to workout three times a week. And I have visited and helped out my father and my stepmother in Delray Beach, Florida fairly often over the past few years, sometimes staying there for several weeks at a time due to medical necessities.

In 2011, I published an autobiography of all of the events in my life, titled "Hourglass: A Survival Story" that is available online through America Star Books. That about sums it up.

Sadly, I have lost touch with pretty much everyone from high school. I hope to be able to re-establish connections with a few people, however, at this 50th year reunion.

After the Vernor and Mumford reunions, I have begun to reach out to those classmates who I saw and chatted with at each or both events and hope that they get back to me and we can keep in touch in the future.
