Planning to attend the 60th reunion - hard to believe!!
John was a very special person to me, a friend from early MacDowell days through Mumford. We played sports together (he loved to punt the football) and I recall playing softball at the playground with John and his sister, Barbara. I was often at his house and he at mine and I knew his parents well. I doubt I would have passed advanced math (Mr. Dunwoodie) without his help.
He had a unique sense of humor to accompany his brilliant mind, and, while outgoing, he was always humble. I’d caught up with him in Seattle and stayed with him and Rosalie in Boston. He stayed with me when in town for reunions and I was looking forward to the next reunion and his planned visit next July. I didn’t know he was ill.
There is something especially sad when losing one who, along with a few others, was there from the start, no way to replace that kind of friendship. Even though we weren’t in touch much lately, I feel the loss deeply. My condolences to Rosalie, David and family.

So sorry to hear of Norman's passing. We shared lots of good times through our Macdowell and Mumford years. We reconnected at each reunion. We'll miss him.
Friendly, wonderful guy and a great neighbor for years - so sad. Condolences to Ellen and the girls.
